Bodywork
Every treatment is tailored to meet the specific needs and request of each individual and to what their body is most responsive on the day of treatment. Most sessions are a combination of the techniques described below. No two sessions are the same.
Modalities used in treatments
Swedish massage- using fingers, knuckles, and elbows. This also encompasses what is commonly thought of as “deep tissue” massage.
Myofascial- Works with the thin layer of tissue that surrounds every layer of muscle. This is done more slowly and superficially, with very deep effects.
Unwinding- manipulation of a joint to increase mobility and work through positions where muscles are “holding on” or restricting mobility
Polarity- releases restrictions by simultaneously stimulating two different points on the body in rhythmic repetitions.
Acupressure- sustained holding of specific points on the body to address specific issues
Reflexology- deeply working the feet or hands to target other areas of the body.
Visceral Manipulation- works gently to release restrictions in the fascia around the organs in to increase blood flow and mobility
Craniosacral- gentle holds balance the body’s alignment and stimulates movement of cerebrospinal fluid.
